Wane (or lack of)
The definition of wane is “bark or lack of wood.” Wane is an undesirable quality in hardwood lumber. At East Perry, you will find minimal wane in ANY specie or grade that you purchase. The elimination of wane primarily takes place in our sawmill where all boards are edged heavily so that each board is clean and straight along both edges.
Consistent Grade
When you purchase a basic grade product from East Perry, you can be certain that the grade will be accurate and consistent every time you purchase. We adhere to the NHLA standard grading rules, so that you know what you are getting every time. Our proprietary grades are also built on the foundation of NHLA rules. These products, too, will be consistent with every purchase.
